Honestly I think both Light and L were justice in their own ways. It really all depends on your interpretation of "justice". Most people seem to love one character while hating the other, but personally I really like both characters and can relate to each of their mindsets. Light had a good intention and got rid of many evil people. Honestly I believe he really was justice for a while, but around the second half of the series I couldn't really say that any longer. He started killing many innocents and went crazy himself.

I agreed with Light's point of view (at least before he went crazy), but I also agreed with L...because at the end of the day, is it really anyone's right to play "God"? Is it really anyone's right to judge whether someone deserves to live or die? Especially when you don't even know the person much? There were definitely some bad guys Light got rid of that I probably would have gotten rid of too if I were in his situation. But to kill off people even just for being lazy, or something petty like that...I don't think Light really had the right to judge whether people deserved life or death based just on something like that. And also when people are given power, it will almost always go to their head or change the person...and it's in that sense that I can understand L's viewpoint. Because Light indeed ended up changing like that, and he started killing not only bad people but also innocent people. So I can see why L wanted to stop someone like that.

And this is exactly why Death Note is my favorite series :) It's one of the rare series that gets you thinking. There is no "hero" or "villian", it's all up to the viewer to decide what's right and wrong. And it is interesting to see everyone's thoughts and opinions of what they feel true "justice" is. Death Note is such a unique and intriguing series <3

And wow my comment ended up really long, sorry about that;;;
